🎬 UGC Ad Examples #108 | October 14, 2025

Welcome to your weekly dose of ad creative inspiration.

Why do we trust a restaurant with a long line out the front? Why are we more likely to buy a product with thousands of 5-star reviews?

It's a psychological principle called social proof, and it’s one of the most powerful tools you can use as a creator. When you show that other people already love and trust a product, you dramatically lower the viewer's skepticism and make the decision to buy feel safe and smart.

This week, we're breaking down how one creator used a single data point to build massive trust.

Ad Teardown: Making a Big Number Feel HUGE

In this ad, creator Bree doesn't just mention that the product has a lot of users. She takes the number—2.3 million—and contextualizes it to make it feel tangible and overwhelmingly popular.

Why This Works: Stating a number is good, but explaining it is great. By breaking down just how massive "2.3 million people" is, she transforms a simple data point into a powerful emotional argument. The underlying message is: "You're not taking a risk by buying this; you're joining a massive, happy community that already loves it." This is a masterclass in using social proof to build instant credibility.

6 Ways to Use Social Proof in Your Next Ad

The "big number" is just one type of social proof. Here are six ways you can weave it into your content:

1. The "Big Number": Just like the example, use large, impressive numbers (customers, units sold, 5-star reviews) to show popularity.

2. The "Review Screenshot": A classic for a reason. Use a green screen effect or a simple overlay to show a screenshot of a glowing 5-star review from the product's website or Amazon page.

3. The "Testimonial Quote": Pull a powerful quote from a customer review and display it as a text overlay while you're using the product. (e.g., "This saved my skin!" - Sarah P.)

4. The "As Seen In" / Press Mention: If a product has been featured in a well-known publication (like Forbes, Buzzfeed, or Good Housekeeping), mentioning it adds a layer of authority and prestige.

5. The "Expert Endorsement": Feature a quote from a recognized expert in the field. For a skincare ad, this could be a dermatologist; for a finance app, it could be a financial advisor.

6. The "Community" Shot: Use B-roll of the brand's social media feed, showing a vibrant community of people using the product and tagging the brand.

💡 Steal This Tactic:

Before you film your next ad, spend five minutes on the product's website or Amazon page. Find one powerful piece of social proof—a big number, a glowing review, or a press mention. Weave that directly into your script to instantly boost your ad's credibility and persuasive power.
